Masking the screen to fit the image that is projected is extremely effective to create visual depth and perceived contrast.
Our new series of Phantom HD is a high-quality, yet low-cost solution to perfect masking. By using a patented manual system for moving the masking-elements, you are rapidly able to alter the screen from a 16:9 to a 2.35:1-format and vice versa.
The fame is a full 10cm xWideFrame, covered in black, ultra-absorbing velour as is the case with all our framed screens. The masking-elements are covered in the exact same velour, providing a seamless transistion towards the main-frame when in use.
The Phantom HD is delivered in both vertical and horizontal masking-configurations.
Vertical configuration
The vertical configuration is by default a 16 by 9 screen. Using this type of configuration you would not need to alter your projectors zoom and focus when using the 2.35 by 1 masking-system, and is probably the most suited configuration for most systems.

Horizontal configuration
The horizontal system is by default a 2.35 to 1 formatted screen. By using the masking-system, you alter the screen to a 16 by 9 type. The advantage of this system is the ability to use more of the room´s width to project the image without requiring the height of a full 16 by 9 formatted frame. However, this system requires either the use of an anamorphic lens (extending the scaled 16:9-image to 2.35:1 when in use), or the use of zoom and focus from the projector when altering the image-ratio. This format is used for many "enthusiast" type of setups.

Both DynaGrey and BrightWhite fabric included
The DynaGrey material is the most versatile, suited in most environments where the walls and ceilings are not specially threated in dark/matte colors. This is due to the fact that the light grey fabric will reflect less of the surrounding light, but rather focus the reflection from the projected image. The BrightWhite fabric, however, works very well in rooms where the ceiling, walls and floors are covered in matte/dark colors. The white fabric is much more sensitive to surrounding light/colors, but if used in the correct surroundings, the white fabric will bring out even more "punch" to your projected image by reflecting more light (reflection-ratio, or gain is 1.1 on BrightWhite and 1.0 on the DynaGrey material). As your installation may alter in the course of the use of this screen, we are including both types of fabric, allowing you to choose what is best suited your room and preferences for yourself.
Acoustic HD sound-transparent material
As an accessory, you can purchase our Acoustical HD sound-transparent material. By using such a material, you are able to place the speakers behind the screen and thus increase the usable width of the room as well as hiding your speaker-installation for a much more sleek appearance. However, we reccommend the use of either SXRD, D-ILA, DLP or the new Reflective LCD-technology when using an Acoustic HD Fabric to avoid moire-effects caused by the pixels interferencing with the structure of the fabric.
