Overview
The miniDSP SHD Series heralds a new era in affordable yet powerful DSP-based network streamers. Welcome to a wealth of onboard processing power enabled by the latest embedded SHARC and ARM processors: Dirac Live room correction, Volumio network streaming, and a full suite of miniDSP plugin power.

Better connectivity
We’ve listened to our customers that asked for more I/O. The top-of-the-line SHD has, in addition to the network streaming port, 3 x digital inputs, USB Audio, and balanced and unbalanced analog inputs. Outputs are analog and digital for all four channels. The all-digital SHD Studio drops the analog I/O but adds AES/EBU digital outputs for professional sound applications.

Dirac Live
We all love great audio. We don’t all love being turned into measurement engineers to get it. The easy-to-use Dirac Live Calibration Tool# walks you through simple steps to get good measurements — for great room correction. Dirac Live’s sophisticated algorithms intelligently correct frequency and time errors around the whole listening area. Expect improved stereo imaging, greater clarity and realism, more accurate timbre and a deeper, tighter and more accurate bass.

# Windows /Mac computer required. Calibrated UMIK-1 measurement microphone included with purchase.

Take charge
We’ve always believed in letting the end user control the final result. After all, they’re your ears. Dirac Live is the perfect balance of automation and control. An interactive control graph allows you to set limits on the frequency range of correction and tailor a target curve to your own heart’s (and ears’) desire. Select from four on-board presets with the remote control — now you’re hearing things!

It’s a world-wide (networked) world
Why re-invent the wheel? Each SHD Series processor ships with Volumio, the popular open-source network streamer, running on a quad-core ARM processor with Gigabit Ethernet port. With Volumio’s wealth of features for network playback and control and an active develoment team and community, we saw no better approach than to collaborate!

miniDSP power-up
We’ve added a second pair of outputs and a suite of our powerful but user-friendly DSP audio tuning software – ten-band parametric EQ per channel, crossovers up to 48 dB/octave, compressor/limiter, and a 2×4 matrix mixer — for system tuning in applications ranging from integrating a single subwoofer to a two-way active speaker.
